Where is the grass greener?

Writer: AnastasiaAnastasia

We all know the phrase “the grass is greener on the other side”. Recently I heard another version: “the grass is not greener on the other side; it is greener where you water it”. I thought this is so true! The metaphor of watering the grass == following certain routines to get to the result is such a good reflection of real life.

If I want to learn the language, I need to keep expanding vocabulary, learn the grammar and practice as much as possible, and eventually I will be more fluent. If I want to improve my running speed, I need to follow the training plan… routinely, and eventually get to the result. And if I want my lawn to look nice and green, I need to mow and water it respectively, and at some point I will be able to enjoy a picnic on a nice green lawn.

And all of this is within our zone of control – good news!

What are your plans for this year? Which “grass” will you “water”?
